Y Lalita from Visakhapatnam wants to make society corruption-free
Corruption is a bane that is eating into our society and robbing it of its growth and development. Y Lalita, a Std VI student from Visakhapatnam and beneficiary of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, wants to become a District Collector and make it corruption-free. She believes that people who are in need of the benefits of the Government’s schemes, do not avail them due to corruption. If she becomes a District Collector, she will ensure that all the people get these benefits.
Lalita’s father Shrinivas Rao is a coconut sweet vendor, and mother, Uma Maheshwari is a housewife. Her elder sister, Lakshmi is studying in Std VIII. She has an uncle, who is talented and educated, but can’t find a job and is unemployed. If she becomes a District Collector, she will help people like him get good jobs and lead a better life.
Lalita’s science teacher – Ms Aruna – is her inspiration. She likes reading books, playing games and after going home, she plays with the kids in their neighborhood for some time. Then, she sits to do her homework along with her sister. At times, she also helps her mother, but for the most part, it’s her sister who does that.
We need truthful and determined people like Lalita at the helm of the affairs in the society and wish her the very best!
