Prime Minister of the school

Mahantesh is not just another regular school going student. At the age of 12, he is already soaring to new heights. The enthusiastic boy shows zeal in whatever he does, be it studies or sports. “He is the Prime Minister of our school. A good organiser, an orator and he also sets an example to many of our students.”  says Shankar Gangannavar, Headmaster at the Government Kannada Higher Primary School at Saraswatipura in Dharwad.

Mahantesh is confident when he speaks about his love for studies especially his passion to be a scientist. Coming from a humble background, he aspires to do well in life. “I love science and I want to take it up when I go to college,” added Mahantesh. Mahantesh’s father Mallikarjuna works at a Kirana store in Saraswatipura in Dharwad, while his mother Sushila is a housewife. “My parents are very supportive of me. Even my teachers are. I enjoy school especially when it comes to learning new things,” adds Mahantesh.

Apart from being devoted to his studies, Mahantesh also has other hobbies. “I love to draw and sketch. Music is also one of my passions.” says Mahantesh.  He is not just a student who thinks about himself but he is also helpful to his classmates. This selfless attitude of the 12 year old, has earned him good reputation at school.

When asked about the Akshaya Patra meals, Mahantesh said, “I love the Akshaya Patra meals. The food is filled with vegetables which are healthy, tasty and nutritious. I thank Akshaya Patra for giving us meals every afternoon,” with a smile.

Mahantesh is all set to represent his school at a state level essay competition which will be held in Bangalore this October. He bagged the first prize for the same competition in Dharwad in 2013. We wish him all the very best in all his future endeavors.
