Pallavi: A farmer’s daughter with a big dream

Born in the family of farmers in the Somalapur Village, Sandur Taluk, Bellary, Karnataka, N. Pallavi is growing up harbouring one dream – to become an IAS Officer. On one hand, Pallavi is inching towards her dream by scoring the highest in her class, and on the other hand her parents feel it is an erratic childhood dream that would fade away sooner or later. However, this little girl seemed absolutely optimistic about achieving her dream.

Pallavi, an Akshaya Patra beneficiary from Bellary, Karnataka studies in Standard 7 at GHPS Somalapura, Sandur, Karnataka. She comes from a family of five: her father, mother and two siblings studying in Standard 9 and 10.

For Pallavi, school is a home away from home. She says, My favourite place to visit is school. I feel a sense of belongingness here. I like playing kabaddi, drawing and studying.”

Just the mention of Akshaya Patra’s food brought up a smile on her face. She says “I’m having Akshaya Patra food for the past seven years. I like it because it’s tasty. And, of all the dishes served, I like Pulao the most.”

We wish her happiness in everything she does. May she turn her ambition into an achievement.
