Dance is my passion. And I love it!

Namaskara, I am Monica. I study in Standard VII at GKHPS Vivek Nagar, Bengaluru. I like studying and playing kho-kho. However, what boosts my spirit and makes me happy from within is – dancing!

I want to be a dancer. When I dance, I forget about all my troubles of this materialistic world, and totally engage with myself physically, emotionally and socially. Dance is my way of expressing emotions in the form of a rhythmically connected series of movements.

We are six siblings. Out of them, two of my sisters study in my school. They study in Standard III and IV. My father is a daily-wage labourer and mother, a domestic helper. Fulfilling wishes often becomes a challenge for my parents and many times, I have seen my mother crying helplessly. I wish to stand by her and put an end to these tough times.

I like Akshaya Patra’s mid-day meals very much. It keeps me fit. It is hot and tasty. My favourite is pulao and curd. I have been relishing the food served by Akshaya Patra for the past seven years. My parents say that my health has improved after having the lunch at school.
