Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation, launched its first pilot for introducing millet items in the mid-day meal programme to enhance children’s nutritional intake.
On Monday, 23 April 2018, a shanty in Mansarovar Park, Shahadra, New-Delhi was engulfed in flames that completely decimated 250 dwellings in the locality.
Large-scale inclusion of millets as part of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme will automatically result in an increased demand for the crops, thus incentivising farmers to opt for them over rice and wheat.
