Akshaya Patra’s Relief Operations In Cyclone Hit Odisha

The unprecedented cyclonic storm FANI hit Odisha coast on 3 May 2019 devastating Puri and other districts. While numerous trees were uprooted, several houses destroyed, the merciless cyclone caused huge infrastructural damage to our Puri kitchen too! This centralised kitchen served 46,904 children studying in 598 Government schools. Akshaya Patra has geared up to support Odisha, rebuild and recover Puri kitchen from the post-cyclone destruction. Around 5,000 people are being served daily during lunch at Brahmagiri, Satar, Kanas, Gok, and Satyabadi.
