The Possibilities’ featuring A. R. Rahman’s ‘Naan Yen Piranthen’
To commemorate Children’s Day, on November 14th, Akshaya Patra released its latest film ‘The Possibilities‘. The video which was filmed in a single take captures the struggles that millions of children in India face to put together a single meal a day. This video highlights how hunger can force a child down a path of difficult choices, simply in order to survive.
The film follows the young protagonist as he engages in a number of unsavoury and unhealthy activities from stealing to manual labour, hoping to make his way in the world. The Possibilities brings these problems into focus, and urges viewers to help send a child to school by supporting the mid-day meal programme. The film stresses that together, with the support of society; we can take innocent children off the street and enrol them in schools, thereby giving them a shot at a good future.
The film is strongly supported by the beautiful background track ‘Naan Yen Piranthen‘ composed by the famous A. R. Rahman and music produced by Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd (MTV), who graciously donated the score towards the video. The film has already received over 55,000 YouTube views.
The video has also received media coverage in leading publications like The Times of India. Read what the publication had to say about The Possibilities here:
