Mr. Shridhar Venkat – CEO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation recently featured in the Chicago Tribune. The Chicago Tribune is a daily newspaper based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, owned by Tribune Publishing. In an exclusive interview dated 15 April 2019, Mr. Shridhar discussed how the journey of The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been so far and what are its future plans.

He also spoke about some of the ‘Beyond the meals’ initiatives such as Giving Every Dream a Chance and School and Student Transformation.

On the one hand Akshaya Patra’s initiative ‘Giving Every Dream a Chance,’ focuses on the holistic development of children, on the other hand ‘School and Student Transformation’ initiative aims to create an environment that is instrumental towards student development by making infrastructural changes and educational interventions. Mr. Sridhar highlighted the fact that these initiatives are designed to boost the transformation of communities in the long run.

Speaking about the scope of the future for ‘Giving Every Dream a Chance’ Mr. Sridhar said “Over the next few years, we plan to touch the lives of over 100,000 beneficiaries across the country as a part of this initiative. We will mentor these children in the field of their interest and empower them in their pursuit of a better tomorrow.”
