Indian Ambassador to Nepal visits kitchen

The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, visited the Nepal Earthquake Relief Centralised kitchen  in on July 27, 2015. Also present on the occasion was Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha’s Managing Director Siddharth Rana.

The Ambassador was given a tour of the kitchen and given insights into how the kitchen operates. Rae addressed the Akshaya Patra team and applauded the Foundation’s efforts in providing meals to the earthquake survivors. Commending the partnership between Akshaya Patra, Tata Trusts and Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha, Rae expressed pleasure in seeing the three organisations join hands and support the people of Nepal. He also expressed a desire that the initiative should continue as a permanent programme after the relief operations are complete.

The kitchen, which started operations on 19th June 2015, is serving over 17,000 meals a day and counting.
