On 6 September 2019, Shri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy – Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated Akshaya Patra’s new centralised kitchen at Singupuram near Srikakulam. The inaugural ceremony also marked the presence of Assembly speaker – Shri Tammineni Sitaram, Education Minister – Shri Adimulapu Suresh, and Road and Buildings Minister – Shri Dharmana Krishna Das.

This kitchen has a capacity to prepare mid-day meals for 25,000 school children in the region. Addressing people at the inaugural ceremony Shri Reddy said, “It is vital to supply nutritious food prepared in hygienic condition to children.”
