On 2 June 2023, Deutsche Bank, one of the world’s leading financial service providers, in partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, served the 70 millionth mid-day meal to school children. The symbolic serving of the 70 millionth meal and felicitation of meritorious students and students with the best attendance was held at GHPS Ejipura in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Over the past nine years, Deutsche Bank, through its Corporate Social Responsibility Born to Be programme, worked with Akshaya Patra to help children from low-income households stay in school through the PM POSHAN Abhiyaan (previously known as the Mid-Day Meal programme). During this period, the partnership has helped alleviate hunger and countered malnutrition for children from marginalised backgrounds. The bank also supports the operation of The Foundation’s kitchens in Bengaluru and Jaipur, ensuring the preparation of hygienic and nutritious school lunches for students.
