On 24 June 2018, The Akshaya Patra Foundation conducted Bhumi Puja of its upcoming kitchen in Jorhat, Assam. This will be the second centralised kitchen of the Foundation in the state, the first one being located in Guwahati. The upcoming kitchen facility will have the capacity to provide 50,000 meals per day to children in government schools in Jorhat. The occasion was graced by District Officials, Airforce Officials and supporters of Akshaya Patra.
