Akshaya Patra has the honour of winning Gold in the 2014 ARC Awards. The organisation won this prestigious award for its Annual Report 2012-13, under the ‘Foundation’ category of Non-Traditional Annual Reports.

The International ARC Awards, running on its 28th year and established by MerComm, Inc. in 1987, creates a globally recognised platform to celebrate excellence in the Annual Reports industry. This competition is the world’s largest of its kind, evaluating excellence in Annual Reports and has participants across corporations, government agencies, small companies, non-profit organisations and other agencies and individuals.

The report is judged based on its success in communicating the organisation’s story, creativity, and clarity of thought, effectiveness and excellence of presentation.  Some elements that are taken into consideration while judging an annual report are cover design, interior design, clarity of writing, presentation of information, expression of financial data, and how clearly the essence of the organisation is communicated.

This year the ARC Awards Competition received over 2,000 entries from 31 countries. Out of these, the top 30 per cent scoring reports were selected to win Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honour awards. Akshaya Patra’s selection for the Gold award is global recognition of the hard work and excellence the Foundation has displayed in the area of corporate communication.

MerComm, Inc. is the world’s only independent awards organisation aimed to globally recognise and advance excellent standards of corporate communication.
