Akshaya Patra laid the foundation stone for its upcoming centralised kitchen in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, supported by philanthropists Shri Adish Jain, Smt Asha Jain and Shri Shachi Rattan, Smt Neelam Rattan. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), Hon’ble Minister of State, Civil Aviation and Road Transport Highway, Government of India.

This new kitchen will cover an area of 2.5 acres and serve sumptuous mid-day meals to over 1 lakh children of 524 government and government-aided schools in the region under the government scheme of PM POSHAN Abhiyaan. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and adhere to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. The new cooking facility is expected to be operational by December 2024.
