Akshaya Patra conferred with award by LASSIB Society
The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been conferred with the ‘Honorary Award on Social Responsibility’ as part of the LASSIB Society India Excellence Awards 2013. Akshaya Patra has been nominated for the honorary award in CSR category by the LASSIB Society Executive Committee.
At the LASSIB Society India Excellence Awards, various organisations compete in specific categories for being recognised as organisations that have contributed exemplarily to deliver strategic value to the society, organisations and the nation as a whole. LASSIB Society is a non-profit organisation, focused on ‘Nurturing Next Generation Governance Globally’. Praveen Kota, Executive President, LASSIB Society, said, “The award recognises the efforts of Akshaya Patra team which has set an example to intellectuals across the country.”
The award ceremony was held on July 13, 2013 at the LASSIB Society 2013 CXO Confluence in Hyderabad. Receiving the award on behalf of the Foundation, Satya Gaura Dasa, Unit Head of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Hyderabad, said, “We are humbled to be honoured by LASSIB. The award has shouldered on us bigger responsibility to continue powering innovations for social causes.”
This year, after being recognised as one of Top 100 NGOs in the World by Global Journal and ICAI awards for financial transparency, the Honorary Award by LASSIB has been the third prestigious recognition for Akshaya Patra. The Foundation has also won awards such as LACP LeapVault Award, PRCI Award and Summit International Awards for its creative representation of the annual report.
