At various point in life, you must have felt like contributing towards the betterment of the society. However, when it came to acting upon these feelings, you must have faced obstacles like lack of awareness about the options or lack of time. In order to help you navigate these obstacles and support our cause of ensuring a world where ‘No child is deprived of education because of hunger,’ we have designed volunteering opportunities for you. Read on to know more about these volunteering options at Akshaya Patra.
EVENTS
Each of us can make a difference in the lives of children in various ways. You can initiate and organise an event at a Government school where Akshaya Patra provides meals or you can be part of an event that is organised by the organisation. The choice is yours!
The Akshaya Patra Foundation has organised numerous events that have assisted in fundraising and spreading the word to support our cause.
Outride Hunger
Outride Hunger is a bike rally organised by The Akshaya Patra Foundation to create awareness about the urgent need to address classroom hunger and bring children closer to education. In the past, we have organised this event in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, with hundreds of bikers enthusiastically participating in each instalment making it a great success.
Teacher’s Day Celebration
5th September is an exciting day for children and teachers in schools across the country. It is the birthday of Dr. Sarvopalli Radhakrisnan, India’s first Vice-president, and is observed as Teachers’ Day with much funfair. Every year we organise volunteering events at our beneficiary schools across the country. With 19,039 beneficiary schools to our credit, you will never face a dearth of volunteering opportunities on this front.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
When we conduct such activities and events, you can spread the message in your own way. You can write about your experience while volunteering with us. You can also visit our kitchen or beneficiary school and share your experience to promote our cause. After all, the smallest efforts can bring the biggest smiles.
