The Akshaya Patra Foundation carried forward its NGO attachment training-cum-exposure visit initiative, as it organised a two-day training programme for 48 newly-recruited Inspectors on August 10 and 11, 2016. The programme was in collaboration with the National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics (NACEN) in Bengaluru – a training institution working under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

The objective of the training programme was to expose the newly-recruited Inspectors to pressing social issues and difficulties plaguing different strata of society, which may be tackled through schemes and policies of the government, as mandated by the Department of Training Personnel (DoPT).

The programme included a visit to the centralised Akshaya Patra kitchen at VK Hill, along with a school visit and served meal at Saraki High School on August 10, 2016 and an Akshaya Patra corporate presentation on August 11, 2016. Participants were acquainted with the operations and technicalities of the Foundation’s centralised kitchen; they also got to interact with the stakeholders involved, including the beneficiary children.
