GIC
We are pleased to present our partnership with General Industrial Controls Private Ltd. The company has donated Rs 5,50,000 to our Foundation. With over 40 years of experience in control, automation and instrumentation, General Industrial Controls was the first company in India to launch time switches and timers. The acclaimed firm has received numerous awards over the years, including the Parkhe Award by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Project Uptech award by the State Bank of India and the Quality Award instituted by Entrepreneurs’ International, among others.
General Insurance Corporation of India
The General Insurance Corporation of India is one of Akshaya Patra’s special CSR partners. GIC has been one of our most supportive partners, not just in terms of the number of children sponsored for our midday meal programme, but also helping us build a large, automated kitchen. GIC was formed for the purpose of superintending, controlling and carrying on the business of general insurance in the country. It is one of the world’s largest insurance companies, ranking 11th among global reinsurance companies. GIC has been one of Akshaya Patra’s top partners since 2015-16. Over 60,000 children are being fed a midday meal every day, thanks to GIC. These meals not only nourish our beneficiaries but also keep them in school, nurturing their long-term aspirations though an education. In 2019-20, GIC took out CSR partnership a step further by co-sponsoring a new Akshaya Patra kitchen in Puducherry. This kitchen in Puducherry will help us feed 50,000 government school children every day, an indication of GIC’s commitment to bettering the lives of India’s children.
The New India Assurance Co. Ltd
The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., based in Mumbai, Maharashtra is a public sector general insurance company of India. It is the “largest general insurance company of India on the basis of gross premium collection inclusive of foreign operations”. It was founded by Sir Dorabji Tata in 1919, and was nationalized in 1973. New India Assurance operates both in India and foreign countries. The company is sponsoring the midday meal of a few thousand children across India. They are also a co-sponsor of 50,000 capacity rice based kitchen for midday meal scheme at Lawspet, Puducherry.

They are supporting Akshaya Patra in its feeding initiatives to ensure that there is food for every person in need.

Founded in 1869, Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm. Headquartered in New York, Goldman Sachs delivers a broad range of financial services across investment banking, securities, investment management and consumer banking to a large and diversified client base. With the global pandemic proving to be, the leading global investment banking firm decided to ease the burden of vulnerable communities and deploy their resources for the betterment of those lives most affected by Covid-19. Goldman Sachs has supported the food relief initiatives of the Foundation, and have enabled us to serve 5,00,000 meals, 12,121 Essential Grocery Kits and 18,182 Happiness Boxes to government school children.

Learning through structured, comprehensive worksheets is one key way to develop children’s understanding of subject matter, and the educational website www.grade1to6.com is meant for parents, teachers, and students in grade 1 to 6 all over the world. It offers thousands of printable work sheets used to focus on strengthening the fundamentals and basics in subjects like Mathematics, English, Science, Activities and GK, with a complete curriculum covering US, UK, Singapore, IB, ICSE, and states board syllabus of most states, with contents added regularly. To help students perfect their curriculum, Grade1to6.com will reach out to all the Akshaya Patra schools where the mid-day meal programme is run.

GSN Games is a leading provider of cross-platform entertainment, including social casino games and skill-based cash tournaments designed to fuel every player’s inner winner. Founded in 1999 as skill games site WorldWinner.com, the company has evolved into a premier social, mobile and online games company. Founded in Newton, Massachusetts in 1999, GSN Games began as WorldWinner.com. in 2007, GSN Games has partnered with Akshaya Patra to distribute hot and nutritious meals to 1,000 plus children studying in government schools in Bangalore. On the social responsibilities perspective GSN Games Donates More than $200,000 to the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund. GSN Games has partnered with Akshaya Patra since 2016. We are grateful to GSN Games for your continued support and contribution towards the Happiness Kit initiative. GSN Games contribution has enabled us to reach out to 3, 607 beneficiaries of the Mid-Day Meal Programme in Bangalore with Happiness Kits in the year 2020.
Gujarat Power
Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) incorporated on 28th day of June 1990 under the Companies Act, 1956, is a State Government Company promoted by the Government of Gujarat. The Company is primarily engaged in the business of renewable energy through various sources and has been playing the role of developer and catalyser in the energy sector in the state. GPCL has been supporting Akshaya Patra since 2010, by way of contributing for Food Distribution Vehicles for Mid-day meal programme and distribution of Happiness Kits in Government Schools in Gujarat. In F.Y. 2021-22, GPCL has supported for 15000 Happiness kit distribution in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
H.T Parekh Foundation
The H. T. Parekh Foundation is a Section 25 company, established by the Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC). The H. T. Parekh Foundation was established in October 2012 with the aim to undertake, pursue and be concerned with the welfare, betterment and advancement of society as a whole, irrespective of religion, race, community, caste, gender, language or social status. The Foundation is sector agnostic and works across a range of social interventions and development initiatives across India. HDFC conducts a significant portion of its Corporate Social Responsibility through the Foundation. HDFC was promoted in October 1977 as a public limited company specialized in providing housing finance primarily to the individual households and corporations for the purchase and construction of residential housing.
