Social Entrepreneur of the Year India 2017 Finalist

Madhu Pandit Dasa, President of The Akshaya Patra Foundation was recognised as the ‘Finalist for Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the prestigious Social Entrepreneur of the Year India 2017 Award. The Award is a joint initiative that has been introduced through a collaboration between Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship (a sister organization of the World Economic Forum). 

Urvashi Sahni of Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) was announced as the winner of the Social Entrepreneur of the Year India 2017 Award. Whereas, Madhu Pandit Dasa and Safeena Husain of Educate Girls were recognised as the two finalists. The three recipients were selected from over 100 applicants and after several stages of rigorous assessment by an independent panel of distinguished jury.

About the Award
The India Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a joint initiative that has been introduced through a collaboration between Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship (a sister organization of the World Economic Forum). The Social Entrepreneur of the Year Awards have been in existence in India for 13 years now and with the 2017 Awards it celebrates eighth year of partnership between the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and the Jubilant Bhartia Foundation. The award recognises promising and successful social entrepreneurs, with excellence in large-scale, system change models.
